The restaurant is situated in a charming old house that has been restored, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and willing to help with any questions about the menu. We started with the fried pretzel bites, which were delicious and addictive. For our main course, my husband and I both opted for the Schnitzel. Instead of the German potato salad, we chose to have Brussels Sprouts and a spring mix salad. The salad was especially tasty, with goat cheese, diced apples, pecans, and balsamic dressing. The Schnitzel was one of the best I've ever had, and it was a good size too. If you enjoy wine, I recommend trying a glass of Riesling with your meal, although my friend enjoyed the banana beer. My only regret is that we didn't have room for dessert, but I look forward to trying one on my next visit. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the Brussels Sprouts took a while to come out after our main course. It wasn't a big deal, though, as all the food was served hot. I suggest making a reservation when you visit. Bon Appétit!
The service at this restaurant was extremely slow. I waited 2.5 hours and still didn't receive my entree, which I had to send back because it was cooked incorrectly. To make matters worse, I found a hair in my beer and there were bugs in the room. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
I arrived on a Friday night with reservations. The staff was very friendly, but if you have other plans, do not come here! The service is incredibly slow and they were out of many items. I will definitely not be returning. I am extremely disappointed, especially since the staff was so friendly.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We had made reservations and arrived a little early, but they seated us right away as they were not busy. However, we were taken upstairs and seated in a dimly lit area. When we tried to place our drink and appetizer orders, we were informed that they were out of many items, including specials, which would have been nice to know earlier. Our drinks were missing lemon and my daughter's glass was dirty. The owner/waitress even admitted to giving our appetizer to someone else and brought us a different one that we didn't like. We waited a long time for our food and when it finally arrived, there were missing items and no utensils or napkins. My husband's meal was dry, burnt, and cold, and my steak was served without a plate to put it on. The whole experience was terrible and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I don 't know how to rate this restaurant. The food was typical restaurant fare, good but not OMG good. Additionally, I wish I had done more research beforehand so I would have realized that if I chose the steak I 'd have to grill it myself. In order to attend to grilling, it was necessary to scarf my salad and side before the steak on the 600-degree stone arrived. I will allow that my steak was very tender and juicy and seasoned by dips accompanying it. I would definitely choose from the non-stone menu should I ever return. I could chalk up the aforementioned to an adventure instead of a detriment were it not for the biggest flaw in this dining experience. The service can only be described as abysmal, even making allowances for the current staffing issues. Two wines were ordered, one was served. Two salads were ordered, one was served. Reminding the server and waiting for the server were the themes of the evening. As for ambiance, be certain you eat on the first floor or the balconies, not the second floor room. It was bare and unwelcoming and the steady clomping up and down the stairway made the absence of any background music a glaring omission. As time passes, I might return as I believe in second chances. If you go, you will not go hungry, but be sure to pack your patience.
