Friar's Cafe - Greater Shepparton

Friars is consistantly good. Has lovely coffee and the food is always delicious. See if you can sit on the top balcony its rather lovely among the tree tops.

A converted small church, the place was very busy; wait staff dancing and twisting around customers. The inexpensive food was average. The service a tad hectic (presumably because they wanted to free-up tables asap). 'Cheap and cheerful' is an expression that comes to mind. I'd go again for breakfast or lunch.

We went there for lunch, on a whim, attracted by the building, [ which was once a Church or Chapel], and secondly by it's name.We were welcomed and seated, [no reservation and it was Sunday Lunchtime]. The place was very busy with all age groups. Young children were kept entertained with colouring-in sheets and crayons. Some of their artwork pinned to a board by the counter is a nice touch. The coffee is very good and so is the food. We only had a small lunch as we'd had a biog, cooked breakfast at our hotel, but we watched other diners enjoying bigger plates and nothing was going back unfinished. A super casual, friendly place that we'll return to, the next time we visit the town.

Accommodated 14 of us very easy considering the cafe was very busy. Great friendly service by the young man and excellent food. Fantastic building also. Next time we are visiting Shepparton, Friars cafe we will be attending. Thank you, loved the experience..

Nice big venue! friendly staff, coffee was great, kids menu available, food was good and came pretty quickly and the price is a lot lower than Melbourne CBD.
