It had an overwhelming amount of tandoori or red coloring, which left stains on our mouths and hands. Even after returning home, our hands were still stained yellow. Additionally, the side dish of raita was watery and the server claimed it was spicy, but it was not. We had asked for raita, but were given yogurt instead. Overall, the quality of Afghan food in Melbourne has declined, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please work on improving your food and service.
We went to the restaurant last night with our friends. The food was okay, but the customer service was so poor that our family has decided not to return. The staff need to be trained on how to speak to customers. The chef even told us it was time to leave while we were still eating. Additionally, they rudely asked us how many drinks we had and were quite pushy when it came to paying our bill. Our guests from Singapore were very disappointed by their attitude. Nobody deserves to be treated so rudely.
Lunch with friends, not too busy when I arrived, but quickly filled with local afghans (not a bad sign as cheap as chips, entrée and pornstars for the prinzessin sum and the food was fantastic. pakora and lamm biryani, just gorgeous.
I went to this restaurant for a meal, but ended up leaving without eating due to the rude behavior of the staff and manager.
I've been to this place a few times and food is always very tasty. They bake their own bread and it is often still warm when being served, meat is marinated from a night before and it's delicious. Salads are bad though not fresh...at all. I wonder if they resycle them. They do not serve alcohol, but soft drinks are available in the fridge. Service is poor. Staff are lacking enthusiasm and confidence and are very slow. The atmosphere is a bit boring. It would be great if they could have some afghan music, but they only have a tv on the wall that constantly shows news. You can tell that the owners put alot of effort in the interior design of the place, and I guess it looks like a nice afghany redtaurant, but there is way too much light everywhere. It kills the mood and makes you feel like you're dining in a school canteen. One of the big pluses is that they have a lift for the wheelchair, so disabled people can also access the area up the stairs. One of the minuses is that they prefer cash and don't like to give you a receipt. I wonder why? So, in short: great food and here it ends.
