I've visited this restaurant many times, and every single time the food has been fantastic! The quality is consistently high. My brother from North Carolina stumbled upon Mom's Creole Cookin' while visiting us, as he was craving beignets and we didn't feel like driving into the city. He returned with beignets and jumbo shrimp, and I was instantly hooked! I've tried nearly everything on the menu except the turkey ribs. The gumbo, vegetable étouffée, beignets, and especially the fresh hand-battered oysters are all outstanding! The staff and owners are wonderful and take real pride in their food. I highly recommend it!
We checked Yelp, which listed the restaurant as open, so my husband wanted to give it a try after a long, exhausting day at work. However, when we arrived, it was closed. There was no sign to explain why. Disappointing experience!
Yesterday, my sister and I was walking in Rhodes Park in Lawrenceville and stumbled upon a Juneteenth event at the park. We returned to the park after our walk and were given a sample of rice, crawfish, shrimp and potatoes. The dish was delicious. It had lots of flavor and everything was cooked to perfection. But you must also try the collard greens egg rolls. We tried one and was very happy we did. Again, it had wonderful flavors and was cooked just right. If your looking for authentic Cajun food, please try this place you will not be disappointed.
This is a diamond I just discovered a week ago. Chef Tim and his staff are wonderful. The restaurant is clean. The customer service is 5 stars and the food is 'so good '. I will be back weekly! Mary W.
