There are a lot of places to eat in Grassington. We chose The Retreat because of the menu. So glad we did, delicious coffee and really tasty falafel wrap. Staff were friendly, highly recommend. We ordered toasties. We expected there to be two slices of bread per sandwich, but when they arrived there was only one piece. We thought this was the usual practice but then saw other people getting larger portions, so I mentioned this (politely) to the staff. However the server was adamant we were wrong (including an explanation of how to make a sandwich as if we were idiots). No apology was offered. Shan't be using this cafe again, which is a shame as the food we had was very tasty, the only reason we are giving it 2 stars instead of 1.
