Chaplins - GRANTOWN-ON-SPEY

This charming little cafe focuses on home-baked treats and coffee. We enjoyed a cake, a toastie, and a baguette, all of which were outstanding. The coffee was also excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Please note that it’s a cash-only establishment.

Absolutely terrible. The service was slow and unresponsive. I waited over 15 minutes for my order, only for the waitress to come back and inform me that they weren't serving burgers that day and asked me to reorder. After that, I waited another half hour for a toasted panini accompanied by some dreadful chips. The cheese had an off taste, and I could barely finish half of it. To make matters worse, the rest of my party had already received and finished their meals at least 10 minutes before mine arrived; two of them even had to go back to remind the staff about their forgotten drinks. The place seemed to have more staff wandering around than actual customers, as we were the only six people there, and none of us had anything good to say about the food quality. It's a cash-only establishment, which usually isn’t a problem, but the till was malfunctioning, and I ended up waiting ages while the cashier struggled to calculate our totals. I strongly recommend avoiding this place and opting for one of the other cafes on the same street. Not only is their service better and their food tastier, but they are also cheaper!

Fantastic service and delicious food! The ice cream is absolutely amazing! They offer an excellent variety of hot drinks with generous servings. I enjoyed the smoked salmon salad, while my daughter had the cheeseburger meal. We will definitely be returning!

Great Service, very friendly, Food is also very good. VERY sorry to learn that they may be closing down sometime this year retire. I wish them all the best.

We tried the chaplin's cafe. Service was not good. young girl not too sure about things , the water for the tea was tainted and tasted metallic making our tea undrinkable.
