Contribuiți la feedbackWithout a doubt, this is the best roasted chicken I've ever had! It's incredibly juicy and flavorful, reminiscent of a Sunday afternoon meal at Grandma's house—absolutely delicious! The mac and cheese strikes the perfect balance with its creamy white cheese sauce that is to die for. We also tried the dumplings, which were perfectly fried with a delightful filling and paired with a fantastic sauce! The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the restaurant feel inviting.
As for the food, the barbecue was good, and the sisig was chicken instead of pork, but I still enjoyed the flavor. The crispy pata was nice as well. However, I was disappointed to find that the boiled chicken was actually fried chicken. While it tasted good, it wasn't what I expected to be served with the bilao, as I was hoping for more traditional Filipino cuisine. I recommend the owner consider replacing it with grilled chicken or at least providing that as an option for customers. For some reason, it was still early in the day, and they were out of lechon kawali. Instead, they doubled up on the portion of fried chicken. While I appreciated the gesture, I wish they had asked us what we would have preferred as a substitute, since the replacement could have been better. The pancit was decent, but it looked plain and lacked sufficient vegetables and chicken. Unfortunately, the kutsinta was not great—it was a bit hard and grainy, and it didn't come with the traditional grated coconut on top, which is a letdown for $1.50 per piece. The halo halo was average, though the bananas served with it were tough. In my opinion, the food was somewhat overpriced considering the lack of service. It’s a self-service system: you pay at the counter, then help yourself to your own utensils, plates, water, condiments, and even takeout boxes at the end. There wasn’t any signage explaining this, and the staff member who took our order didn’t clarify it for us, so we figured it out on our own. I noticed the table behind us waited a long time for someone to collect their plates and take care of their needs. They were older and might not have been accustomed to this kind of setup. It’s important to remember that not everyone dining there is familiar with your system. You should treat all your guests as if they are first-time visitors, welcoming them and providing reasons for them to return. In the end, I left a tip in the glass as a way to support my fellow Filipinos.
This restaurant is undoubtedly one of the most authentic Filipino spots in the KC area. They offer bilao plates that are large enough to feed a fairly big family, and they are very accommodating with orders. For instance, they adjusted the sourness of the sine (tamarind soup) to suit our group's preference. The only drawback is the longer wait times and the restaurant's small size. However, the food is made fresh to order. I highly recommend giving authentic Filipino cuisine a try!
The staff was super friendly, my girlfriend and I had to eat outside because of the limited space and party inside, but I really enjoyed the breeze and tranquility of the area. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the fineness of chicken and pork sabos taste. Came with a pineapple and a generous part of rice. All in all a really wonderful experience if you like Filipino food and even if you don't necessarily try this place you can come to love it.
