Flor De Sal By Melides - Grândola

Amazing experience- food was incredible and with a beautiful view! We are a couple and had 3 petiscos (so good I didn’t have time to take a photo), 1 main dish and 2 desserts (photos attached), and had a great Caipiroska de Framboesas do drink. Every dish was nicely presented and the flavours were amazing!! Very good quality-price ratio. Would highly recommend! PS- we visited during July, still some Covid concerns in Portugal, but the restaurant was very clean and waiters wore masks so we felt very comfortable.

It is a great location but quality of the food could be better, fish dishes were better but the meat had been frozen! We liked the tapas but they were too expensive for the little you got.

This place is TO AVOID!!!.........Outside it looks poor like a snackbar so we decided to have lunch inside. We ordered a charcoal grilled turbot, the lady confirmed the order and we waited 1 hour to get served. When the fish finally arrived it was clear that the fish was not from the BBQ Grill, but from a hot plate and finished in butter sauce. The lady insisted that it was charcoal grilled, but the grill was even closed! The fish was not bad, but not the way we ordered. In Alentejo if you order a fish 48,50 euros in this place) you get salad and patatoes of of your choice. NOT HERE!! Everything is extra, even items on the bill you did not order and never received! Not surprising that the place was completely empty! A local glass of cheap open wine in a very ordinairy glass is 4.50. The bill for 2 was 76,50. This in a very simple, snackbar like ambiance. No excuses, only an agressif young waiter with a big mouth. There are so many nice local restaurants with fresh honest food without pretensions in the area, they all have BBQ grilled fish and decent prices!!!!......................so forget about this place FLOR DE SAL!!

Chef Sandra who is both a restaurant owner/chef at her Flor de Sal by Melides restaurant on the Portuguese Coast and and also a personal chef for those lucky enough to visit this beautiful region. Sandra prepared an exquisite dinner at our vacation rental home. She prepared everything on site using only fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. We were amazed by the flavorful dishes, the beautiful presentation and her caring touch. Sandra set a beautiful table, explained the dishes and their ingredients and the preparation for each dish. She also suggested and brought excellent local wines to pair with the selected dishes. And prior to dinner she presented us with a sample menu, along with options to cater to the tastes of all 6 guests. It was a most memorable occasion for us. The highlight of our trip. We highly recommend Sandra.

Feast for your eyes and tastes like heaven. Wonderful atmosphere. We will return. Great choice for dining out
