Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a charming little bar that offers a relaxing atmosphere. Although it's small and cozy, it serves some of the best burgers in the city. I highly recommend the Swiss mushroom burger. If you have a big appetite, consider adding double meat and cheese with sautéed mushrooms for just a few extra dollars. The fries are average, so I suggest trying the roasted beer-bread mushrooms or the roasted cheese sticks instead. The steaks are also fantastic. If you prefer your steak medium well or well done, they prepare it perfectly, unlike certain places like Bethhams at Amway, which tend to overcook it, and it's reasonably priced compared to Louis Benton. You can enjoy a small steak salad and potatoes for around $12. They also offer excellent wet burritos, which are much better than those at Belts and far superior to Adobe. We love this place and it has been one of our favorites for the past ten years. The only dish we recommend avoiding is the hackbread sandwich, which we didn't enjoy. The chili is good but not very spicy, not even the four-alarm version, which is more like mild salsa. Keep in mind that lines and service can be slow during the evenings. For shorter wait times and better service, we suggest visiting between 11 AM and 4 PM if possible. While we've gone in the evenings and had decent experiences, we strongly recommend coming for lunch or early afternoon, and if you do go in the evening, arrive as early as you can.
The burgers are incredible! The Cottage Bar is somewhat tucked away and easy to overlook, but if you're in search of an outstanding burger or a delicious Reuben paired with a frothy beer, you definitely need to check this place out!
The service, which had always been excellent, was just as good as we remembered, and our three young children were treated like any other guests. However, the real highlight remains the food, particularly the Cottage Burger. It's essentially a high-quality olive burger served on a rye bun, and it stands out not just on the Cottage Bar menu but generally among burgers. The rye bun, a delightful cheese blend, crispy bacon, and a unique mayo come together to create a flavor profile that's unlike any olive burger you've had before. Plus, the hand-made, seasoned burger patty truly elevates the experience. Everything combines to form an exceptional burger. While there are other well-known burger joints in the city, like Stella's and Choo Choo, I’m not prepared to call Cottage Bar's burger the absolute best in the city, but I can confidently say it deserves a spot in the Top 5. So, if you're in the area and craving a good, comfortable place to enjoy a burger and a beer, definitely make your way to the hill and stop by Cottage Bar—you won’t regret it.
So this place had an amazing burger an even more amazing waffle fries that the most excellent bartender reccomended eating with malt vinegar and them dip them in brown gravy!! Umm YES, sadly I don't remember the bar tenders name but is she reads this and remembers, (Say this in your Oprah voice). YOU ARE A GENIUS!!
