Brandywine - Grand Rapids

This place is cool. Reminds me of a restaurant I was much younger. Bring Nostalgie back. The server was attentive, just a little slow. There were signs everywhere that said they were barely occupied, but there was a gentleman who just sat in the register waiting for people to pay. He would have refilled coffee or water or something... The food was delicious! I had the hotcakes and my wife had eggs and toast and sausage. We both thought everything was good. Her sausage was burned. When we went to pay, the Lord noticed the sausage and gave us a discount without saying anything. I thought it was super cool. The reason why this was not a five-star rating was the general cleanliness. The plastic shield holder on the table was absolutely dirty. This is easy to clean, but it looked like it hadn't been touched since the sign was inserted. Something like this surprises you about the cleanliness of the kitchen and the staff. That would have made this evaluation much lower, but it was redeemed with great customer service. Overall, I would go back there. I just hope they're better clean.

Clean, open space. The staff are very friendly. The portions are large and well priced for the size. I will go back when I am out that way again.

Love the perch! I will go here when I want something comforting for lunch and looking for a place that I can relax. Thank you to the staff, I know you put up with a lot especially wearing those useless masks.

I loved the cinnamon roll French toast. Breakfast came fast and the service was nice. No complaints. Typical breakfast area with great prices and good service. I also had the cookies and Gravy. The biscuit was more of a soft dough biscuit, it was okay, but I prefer the Craspier sconce type biscuit.

The food here is fantastic. It is a classic diner feeling, but the food tastes everything wonderfully homemade. We had the cookies and the severity and a farmer scramble. Both the biscuits and the severity were not the typical options that most diners have. The kitchen was a little slow and had difficulty maintaining, but the food was worth waiting.
