West Bay Diner - Grand Marais

This is a charming 1950s diner and restaurant featuring a delightful two-story gift shop. The owner, a longtime employee, is committed to preserving the history and family tradition of the diner. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area and the upper half of the island. The food is fantastic, and everything is freshly baked and homemade. We indulged in goodies from the gift shop, including chocolate chip cookies.

We were quite disappointed to find that we arrived too early for the 2022 season during our visit to 27 Miles. However, the owner and manager of the gift shop was incredibly helpful, providing us with great recommendations for breakfast and nearby scenic spots. She was charming, knowledgeable, and exceptionally friendly. We definitely plan to return when the season is in full swing! (From Cincinnati, OH)
