Gilly's Family Restaurant - Grand Forks

This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The chicken chow mein was dry and lacking in flavor, with barely any chicken or sweetness. The mandarin chicken sauce was too salty and not flavorful. The egg rolls were greasy and underfilled. The BBQ pork fried rice was dry, with hardly any pork and it was clear that frozen mixed vegetables were used sparingly. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Avoid going to the buffet right before closing time as the food may not be as fresh. The buffet offers a good selection of choices earlier in the day.

We live from the city and always looked forward to gillys. tonight it was terrible. the baked chicken was raw inside, the mandelhühnchen was all diligent, and the ginger beef was so gum-like that we could hardly chew it. all in all a very disappointing meal. we never go back

The service was not great. The dishes took a long time to be cleared from the table, but it wasn't the fault of the servers. The buffet had a good selection, but the flavors were average. This wouldn't be my first choice for Chinese food in the city. It was strange that they didn't accept credit or debit cards. Maybe it was only accepted downstairs, but I forgot to ask.

Although the food was like no Chinese food I’d had before and my Chinese part of the family won’t approve of their chopping skills both dishes we ordered were delightful. The ingredients were fresh, prepared in a wonderful manner and the seasonings were brilliant. The...service was attentive.
