Contribuiți la feedbackA family owned restaurant we stumbled upon. The experience is world class. The food is a spectacular explosion of flavor. The service impeccable. This is as if your aunt was a Michelin chef and you unexpectedly popped in for dinner. If you have an opportunity to reserve here you’ll be extremely pleased.
We had an amazing dinner. The owners are kind and so knowledgeable of the wine and cuisine. The aperitifs, the appetizer/ salad, the seafood, the oxtail, all SUPERB! The amazing rich home made Chocolate Mousse. The wine pairings on point....an amazing dinner! Lovely Sherry, amazing Tempornillo/ Cab blend and lovely Port desert wine to round it out. Welcome change from tapas, a meal that is complete. So charming and delightful. Will come back again and again. Such an awesome surprise. Gourmet treat! Love!!!
Before you even walk in notice the unobtrusive grab bar to help you up the couple of steps. The beauty of the restaurant hits you immediately. It truly is like someone's much loved home and has been open 24 years! Exquisite flower arrangements, the walls covered in artwork, paintings, posters and prints in the most soft but striking arrangements. White tablecloths over soft colored plaid tablecloths. Importantly, comfortable chairs. And now for the service, presentation and the food. One of the best meals we have ever had, bar none. We shared Ventresca salad. It was watercress and beautiful in appearance and taste. One thing I noticed long ago in Granada and maybe it is true of all restaurants in Spain special dishes and flatware for every course of your meal. It's amazing to me as an American. You are never expected to use the same fork twice! The next course was Asparagus Mousse in Creamed Spinach. Wow. Next we had Monkfish and Prawns in puff pastry with a sumptuous sauce. The desserts were equally beautiful and delicious. If you want to go here call her Mariquilla 958 52 16 32. The restaurant is open Friday to Sunday but she told us last night that she would open the restaurant for us during the week. Please eat here; you will be hard pressed to find a meal of this quality elsewhere. I did not mention the wine because in Granada it is all oh so drinkable. Restaurante Mariquilla deserves a much higher position on the list of restaurants in Granada on Trip Advisor.
