Hubby says we'll give this one more try. We'll order a burger next time. I went with one of their specials which was a Fish Taco. Bad choice. It was served in a flour tortilla which had to come straight out of the package, not warm whatsoever. It was stuffed with very wet and sloppy slaw which I had to scrape out of the taco to find the fish. The fish turned out to be what seemed like ONE piece of fish STICK, cut into pieces, wedged into the bottom.I ordered fries as a side. I did have a bite of my friends cheese pizza and I will say that it was tasty. The dining experience was accompanied by a waitress who had no personality and seemed to forget we were there and never once came back to check on us. Many tables were dirty from previous customers the entire time we were there. Granted I will be nice and say she was the only one I saw working the dinning room, so perhaps this was due to a shortage of workers and that should reflect on the owner/manager. Hoping the place can make hamburgers good for our next visit, as their name reflects that's the kind of food they will be known for. The only reason we're giving them a 2nd chance is because they're a small town establishment and should be given a chance.
We were passing through stopped here for lunch. We wanted to eat and get back on the road, so we opted for burgers over pizza (thinking burgers would cook faster and be served faster). The restaurant itself had a weird vibe. For instance, the moment we entered, everyone in the restaurant paused and looked at us as if we were aliens. No biggie, we thought. We sat in our booth and watched the server give the tables around us menus, but not us. Again we thought, no biggie. They 're busy (not a packed house, but 8 10 tables had guests sitting at them). We finally went to the counter and got menus ourselves. About 30 minutes in, our drink orders were taken (super simple: water and tea). Took another 30 mins for our orders to be taken, and from there 40 minutes to get our burgers. All the while, those who 'd come in around the same time as we had, and even some who 'd arrived after we had, had been served (some had even ordered pizza), eaten their food and left. The burgers were mediocre, and that 's being generous (think literally ANY fast food restaurant burger, except waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy slower service). Two hours later, we were back on the road. The ironic thing is that though there was clearly something up with our presence in the place the two servers we encountered were very pleasant to us (there probably should be zero stars, but I 'm giving 2 stars for the 2 nice to our faces but terribly slow servers). Definitely would NOT recommend stopping here if you 're an out of towner. This place had a major you ain 't one of us vibe going and the food was not worth the vibe nor the wait.
Driving by on I 70 we were looking for a local place that is pet friendly. Found this hidden small town gem.Nice outside paito area, enclosed enough to block the Kansas wind. Friendly people, great atmosphere. We had a blt and a toasted club and they fixed a hamburger for my dog. very good.
The Queso burger was great! Loved the dipping sauce and our dog, Rusty was able to dine with us outside!!
