Did you ever wonder what ever happened to old fashioned values. I'm talking about the sort that gives you good service with a smile and some free advice.I recently stopped into the Northwinds with some of our family members for a late lunch. The 4 grandchildren, who were with our group, all have healthy, active appetites. Anytime you can order 1 pancake that is so big 3 of my grand kids couldn't finish theirs, it's a notable experience. To be fair I helped out with a few bites, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the lightness and down right delicious taste.The 3 other adults in our group all had meals that provided generous portions for mature, growing appetites.It's been a long standing fact that once in awhile I get a yearning for comfort food. For me it's some times a hot turkey or hot pork sandwich. Lots of gravy and a heap of fresh french fries. You got it! That was what I ordered here and I was not disappointed.Bottom line is it's plain, simple, good, home style cooking at a reasonable price.So if you happen to find yourself passing by this little out of the way place, just think about giving it a try.Along with the food it's got, what I like to call "real northern atmosphere". And if by chance it's your lucky day, just maybe you'll get to meet a real honest to gosh logger or even a prospector, the sort of people who are the backbone of our nation. You just never know!

The vibes here are 10/10 no doubtOutdoor patio seating that is pleasant on a 48 degree night is the dream.
