Gewoon Gouds - Gouda

We had a coffee and a simple strawberry pastry. It wasn't really that special, but then again, we didn't have lunch, so maybe it would have been better. They have a great spot on the square though, and the personnel was really friendly. So all in all, not a bad place to rest your feet and get a coffee!

We totally loved it here. The waiters were super nice, friendly, welcoming, and quick to get us anything we needed. So much better than nearby places we walked by, where we weren't certain that they wanted our business. There was a far-side lounge area (in the outdoor seating) which was perfect for our kids. The food was decent (interesting soups... mostly Dutch food). Not sure I'd go back for the food, per-se, but the service was so good, the setting was nice, and the beer selection was great. They also have a nice indoor space (which I imagine is more popular the colder it gets. The outside space was covered and heated when were there in November. They do accept credit cards!

It was Saturday evening as a backtour from Den Haag to Amsterdam. As even idea we stopped in Gouda and find accidentally the Gewoon. Impressed by the good mood we go in and were excited. Great cheese and friendly service!! When you are near Gouda, so go' in and enjoy a great meal. I say: clear recommendation!!

Very nice restaurant in the center of Gouda. Nice selection of beers and good food. Service is outstanding.
