Govindas - Gothenburg

This is a chain of restaurants around the world that belongs to the Hare Krishna movement. The movement is vegetarian in their belief, so therefore it is not a all vegan place. The food is typical indian inspired, ie small masalas, currys etc. Very authentic taste thou and worth a visit.

I ate at govinda’s in lund and was super happy with eating, so I was thrilled to try in göteborg. it was nothing wrong with it, but it did not live the same taste and the atmosphere as the one in the mouth. it was actually a Smidge-Blande I didn't expect. However, as it is a midday place, you should note that everything depends on what is offered for the day. the parts were small, but I was full, so no complaining. the meal was balanced by nutrition.

A popular place for local but only Monday to Friday for lunch. with another option on offer every day. Easy and tasty eating that also includes bahjis, mild but seasoned curry, suppe, poppodums, brot, salat, chutney’s and seconds when they can manage it. the personal is beautiful and speaks English. 75kr and a mango leti is also included.

Let's be clear, Govindas is a Krishna place and Krishnas are about simple living, so don't expect anything flashy. The place has a very calming atmosphere the food selection changes daily and while everything is vegetarian, not all is vegan. We had some very nice bahjis and a mild curry and rice dish and poppadom (buffet style they serve you a plate you can go back for seconds if you wish. For 110kr a good amount of food, I was surprised that they are vegan cookies, vegan mango Lassi just like the Samosa, although you need to mention if you are vegan because the restaurant is vegetarian. Super recommended! Updated by previous review on 2023-04-17
