Say hello to Richard and his incredible staff while enjoying a delightful outdoor summer meal on a gorgeous day! **Review:** I have to admit, my last review didn’t do justice to this place. Richard faces the same staffing challenges as many other businesses on this island. However, from Thursday to Sunday, you can savor one of the most delicious meals around, possibly the best in all of Northern Ontario. The menu offers a mouthwatering selection, including fresh fish, tasty pizza, and fantastic sandwiches, all served in a beautiful, inviting outdoor patio that creates an amazing atmosphere. One of the highlights of Buoy's is Richard himself; he truly cares about providing exceptional food and service. I can only imagine how exhausting it must be for him to manage everything on his own. His staff is always fantastic and friendly, which makes the dining experience even better. Richard, if you're reading this, I apologize for my previous mediocre rating. A 3/5 was far too harsh. Now that I understand the dynamics of this island, I’m giving you a 5/5, especially considering the challenges you face with staff shortages. The food was outstanding! I had the Cajun rainbow trout burger, while my husband tried the Key West seasoned burger. They were amazing—so fresh and prepared to perfection. The location also offered fantastic views. We returned to try a slice of the pumpkin cheesecake, which was delightful and not overly sweet.

**Service:** Consistent with many reviews, we found the service at Buoy’s to be friendly and helpful. Our server was fantastic—relaxed yet efficient, effortlessly humorous, and well-informed about the menu. We couldn’t have asked for more. **Ambiance:** The patio offers a lovely view of the Gore Bay marina, along with a picturesque glimpse of Gore Bay itself. The relaxed service and the beautiful weather during our visit made for a delightful outdoor dining experience. I highly recommend a post-dinner stroll along the marina’s breakwater; it provides a stunning view of the Bay’s outlet to the North Channel and a lovely panoramic sight of the town and marina. **Food:** Upon our arrival, the patio was bustling with diners, and it was clear that most had ordered pizza, confirming the reviews we had read. After some deliberation, we ultimately decided on two 12” pizzas (having hiked all day, we were quite hungry). We chose the Bonnyville (double pepperoni, extra cheese, tomatoes, green olives, and bacon) and The Max (shaved roast beef, garlic butter, fried mushrooms, red onion, marble cheese, and steak spice). We also ordered two side salads: a Caesar and a Greek. The salads were tasty, featuring house-made dressings and fresh ingredients (with the exception of the canned black olives on the Greek). However, both salads were missing a little something—more and larger croutons would have enhanced the Caesar, while the Greek could have benefited from more Feta and real olives. As for the pizzas, they were truly good. Just to clarify, if you’re looking for Neapolitan or artisanal-style pizza, you may be disappointed. However, if you crave classic Canadian-style pizza with quality toppings cooked to perfection (and they were impressively quick in getting our pizzas out), then Buoy’s will definitely satisfy your cravings and fill you up. Paired with our side salads, we were stuffed—we could have easily managed with two 8” pizzas, but we indulged a bit! **Price:** The cost for two 12” pizzas, two side salads, two tall cans of Okanagan Cider, HST, and a generous tip came to just under $100. It was money well spent, and we’ll certainly return the next time we visit Manitoulin Island.

Amazing service, waiter was friendly and professional and provided excellent service. Food was out of this world! We had the Fish burger and was locally caught the Cajun seasoning was divine and the fish was so fresh. I would recommend going out of your way to visit this place for dinner, they were a highlight of a very pleasant trip.

A must when you are visiting the island. We always come here for pizza and pulled pork. Absolutely delicious. Buoy's only uses fresh local ingredients. We had our small dog with us so we were able to order our food and go eat at the picnic table near the waterfront. Can't wait to come back again next year!
