Tangerine - The World Kitchen

As we were in Salem for two days, for a meeting in this hotel, we had all our meals in this restaurant. I am generally not a fan of buffets as their trying to catering to all tastes leads to an unsatisfactory table. At each meal a couple of dishes were very good, while everything else was pedestrian. May be the a la carte offerings are better !The service was enthusiastic but, with some training, the mostly young staff could turn it up a notch or two higher.The ambiance is standard four star,On a business trip took me to Salem, I found myself booked at The Radisson (formerly Park Plaza). The hotel is located on the Bangalore highway and is easy to find without getting into traffic hassles that go with every big town in our country. The expansive lobby is the first indication of generous spaces that are evident all over the hotel. The room, the restaurant, bar and passages are all built without the cramping effect of what some people think is “optimizing space”. That, in itself is rather relaxing.The room was clean and well furnished with a comfortable bed and sofa, a work table and chair, coffee/tea making facility and an electronic safe. The fridge/ minibar with Indian beer and whiskey and chocolates (Ferro Rocher besides KitKat and Cadburys. The well-appointed bathroom has quality toiletries and a hair dryer. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant, while offering a fairly big spread, quality wise was middling, with a couple of really good dishes. Most of the remaining stuff was pedestrian. As we were there for a conference, we dinner and lunch were also at the buffet and the comment for the breakfast applies here as well.The service was good with the mostly young staff trying hard to please. Some of them apparently need some more training, especially in English. The bar looked well stocked and was a pleasant place to enjoy a drink.All in all a good business hotel priced well below what a similar place in a metro would charge.leasant without getting classy.

This is the restaurant of Park Plaza, Salem.Located: On the highway, if driving from Bangalore, it comes in the left. Food is really good, Service is one of the best part of this hotel.A little expensive for buffet. A-la-Carte, we found reasonable. Small kids play area is there. Ample parking place.

Cold buffet, overpriced and even live counters were bad. Carry your own food or eat outside if you want to try this place but i have never been this satisfied from any hotel's restaurant as far as food is considered. Bad would be a compliment. They really need to change the restaurant manager if they want repeat visits. Tangerine is as bad as it can get

The breakfast selection is extensive and accommodates all palates. The service is attentive, helpful, and efficient. Special recognition to Meena and the rest of the staff for their hard work. The breakfast was delicious, although it would have been even better with a couple of authentic Tamil Nadu dishes.

Desserts was awesome and the hospitality is too good. Beautiful ambience. Good pace for Friends meet-up
