Tee Wayne's Cajun Cooking - Gonzales

I can't recommend the Fried Catfish and Shrimp here enough. The crust is crispy and flavorful without being too heavy. However, it does get quite busy! They open at 11, and it’s best to arrive by 10:50, as the place fills up quickly. I really need to start exploring other items on the menu so I can review them too, but when you find something you love, it’s hard to branch out. My husband tried the grilled shrimp poboy and said he's discovered a new favorite way to enjoy poboys. He mentioned that the flavor is just right, adding a nice pop without overshadowing the shrimp itself. We would definitely visit this place more often if they extended their hours, and I’m sure other fans would feel the same way.

The restaurant is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They offer an extensive menu, and I wish I could buy some items from the fridge case to prepare at home, but unfortunately, I live too far away. The potato salad was intriguing. The shrimp étouffée was flavorful without being too spicy. However, I would have preferred if all the shrimp had been deveined, as I personally don’t enjoy eating uncleaned shrimp. That said, most of the shrimp in my dish were cleaned. The rice was cooked to perfection.

I had the shrimp soup, and it was quite enjoyable. The flavor of the shrimp really shone through.

We were in town for vacation and ate lunch at this spot twice last week !! Such great food and customer service..The catfish and shrimp were outstanding! Ya gotta try the shrimp burger! Thanks for making it a great experience for us Texans…Can’t wait to come back!

Very good gumbo. As I could see the other foods looked great. Service was great.
