Vailhouse Oyster Grille - Goldsboro

This restaurant is pretty good with solid seafood options. I'm not sure if the sea bass was actually sea bass, but it was well-cooked white fish. Some of the scallops were overcooked, but most were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. While nothing was outstanding, everything was satisfactory. The drinks were also good, although it took a while for me to receive the cocktail I ordered. The atmosphere was casual and friendly. I would definitely come back again.

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. The menu looked good. I shared the scallops and sea bass with my wife. Unfortunately, a couple of scallops were undercooked, and I had doubts about whether the fish on my plate was actually sea bass based on the texture. Our drink order was forgotten and only delivered near the end of the meal after we reminded them.

We recently went to this restaurant for lunch and were disappointed with the lack of flavor in our dishes. I ordered the fish sandwich and my husband had the lobster roll, which was made with claw meat instead of tail meat and was not filled out properly. The fish sandwich was mediocre and lacked any flavor. We also tried the grouper 'bites' which were not bite-sized at all, just 3 pieces of fish that were also lacking in flavor. Overall, it seemed like none of the dishes were properly seasoned. We were left feeling unsatisfied and probably won't be returning.

Excellent service. Food arrived quickly.. still hot! Couldn’t complain about portion size. Meal was delicious: fried Shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, fries, and generous salad. Restaurants was clean. Friendly staff.

The sea scallops and shrimp and grits were very good. Good atmosphere. Some tasty local brews on tap in addition to an original cocktail menu. Our server Vincent was phenomenal!
