Winston Lodge - Golden

Suprised to see some low ratings. I thought the place was great. We forgot our room key in the room and they were very responsive to have another one waiting for us when we got back. Great location, nice big common areas, comfy beds. Would definitely stay again when in the Golden area.

Beautiful spot for a family getaway! Great accommodating staff and a wonderful loft suite for a family group. So close to Kicking Horse for coffee, breakfast and dinner, as well as Boo the Bear. And a quick drive to Cedar Lake, Golden and Field.

To be honest I expected more from this place. There was no A/C whatsoever in the rooms. The wifi was very slow and took forever to connect. The check in was confusing and took me a while to figure out where my building was because the directions weren’t that great. Not any hiking trails close by for running like I thought.

The manager Tom is amazing. Room was great, nice view from balcony, great bed, great big soaker tub and huge bathroom. Just don't book thru Expedia. Nightmare. Still waiting to get a refund when we changed reso from 2 nites to one, well within what they state is allowed for full refund.

Don't be fooled by pretty pictures on their website. I've stayed at cleaner friendlier 2 star motels. The bar and bistro is a disaster. No idea how this place stays open. Has potential. Could be improved with new management. Current managment will make sure this place tanks. Maybe time to clean house, in every sense..
