Kicking Horse River House Cafe - Golden

The staff and owner were very friendly. I was passing through Golden on my way home and asked a friend where to find food. They recommended this restaurant to me. It took me some time to decide on what to order from the menu, as there were many good options. My food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The decor was unique and interesting. The restaurant had a nice patio, which was mostly full on a hot day, and there was a live music stage. Although I couldn't stay for a live show since it was a Sunday night, I still enjoyed my experience. I couldn't find a reason to give them less than four stars and I definitely plan on returning.

After exploring the Kicking Horse Pedestrian bridge, we decided to have lunch at Kicking Horse River House. We were hungry and looking for a place to eat, so we were delighted to find this charming patio right next to the bridge. After a long and hot drive from Jasper, it was the perfect spot to relax with a beer and enjoy the view. I ordered the River House Chicken burger, made with fresh chicken thigh, avocado, old cheddar, bacon, jalapeño mayo, lettuce, tomato on a cheese Kaiser bun, served with Caesar salad. The juicy chicken thigh was a pleasant change from typical chicken burger patties, and the Caesar salad was a refreshing choice on a hot summer day. My partner ordered the pulled pork quesadilla, also served with Caesar salad. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the quesadilla was made with a crispy fried tortilla, giving it a crunchy texture similar to a hard taco while still holding in all the delicious ingredients. It was a fantastic lunch on the patio, breaking up our long day of activities. He enjoyed the shade while I soaked up some much-needed sunshine along with our beers.
