Contribuiți la feedbackTheir bento box lunch menu offers good value for money with high-quality side dishes. They also provide a free upsize option for plain rice and unlimited refills for miso soup, which is quite tasty. However, be cautious with the free upsize for rice as the regular portion is already quite generous. I could barely make a dent in it! For dinner, the menu is limited as this is a yakitori restaurant specializing in BBQ grilled skewers. The pork belly skewers are a standout dish, but the other items on the menu are rather ordinary without anything particularly noteworthy. Overall, we found the food to be a bit salty for our tastes, but this can vary depending on personal preference. Everyone's taste buds are different.
Yesterday, my son and I visited this restaurant and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We tried multiple items from the menu and everything was delicious. We will definitely be returning for more. The food was amazing in this charming little restaurant. I highly recommend it.
This restaurant may seem unassuming, but the food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the yakitori with sauce, the Hokkaido crispy chicken, and the BBQ rice cake. The yakisoba is just average, but overall the prices are very reasonable and the service is quite good.
A really nicely decorated Yakitori place right on Surfers Paradise. They have lunch sets. I had the tofu eggplant set which was yum. Too bad they don't have actual yakitori in the lunch specials...I would've liked that as I can go to heaps of other places for rice set meals.<br/ <br/ Would love to return at night for yakitori and beer. Seems pretty popular with Japanese and other east Asians.
Tried searching this place in Google, but the search brought up a totally different restaurant at a different location, (Noticed that some people had reviewed this eatery under the other business' listing). So have suggested a new listing for Google so that I could write a review under correct business. The restaurant frontage is actually on Hanlan Street around the corner from Surfers Paradise Boulevard. We decided to make a dinner booking for this little traditional Japanese izakaya as had tried walking in twice before only to be disappointed as all the tables were occupied. There are only a handful of tables in a casual setting. Seats are plastic wine crates with a cushion on top. The walls are decorated with Japanese posters giving the feel of being in a town in Japan. As the name suggests the restaurant specialises in Yakitori style dishes (Charcoal grilled skewered meat). They don't have sushi or ramen (as the sign says at the entrance). The menu also has a number of interesting traditional Japanese dishes. We ordered the raw beef with raw egg, beef skewers with wasabi, eggplant and miso meat sauce gratin, gyoza, meat stuffed mushrooms, special yakisoba, chicken rice porridge and Hokkaido style fried chicken. All the dishes had amazing flavours and were cooked to perfection. Finished off the meal with green tea ice cream with red bean paste. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. You must try this restaurant on your Gold Coast holiday!
