Contribuiți la feedbackIzakaya Midori offers a wide variety of options, from unique sushi creations to traditional hot ramen, and even vegan karaage and katsu meals. The vegan gyozas are a must-try for all the gyozaholics out there. Chef Fumiyoshi Iwasaki is a true artist who has taken Japanese cuisine back to its roots, incorporating innovative and modern techniques to create plant-based alternatives. The flavors and textures are so amazing that you won't even believe it's all vegan. I highly recommend checking out Izakaya Midori - you won't be disappointed!
It takes courage to open a ‘destination’ restaurant, one so out of the way that diners must ‘seek to find’ it. Without walk-by foot traffic, destination restaurants depend on reputation and recommendation, other diners spreading the word about great food and service. Izakaya Midori is one such restaurant. Opened in June 2019 in Reedy Creek in the space formerly occupied by The Allotment Café, this little izakaya (a place where you can sit down to have food and alcohol) is tucked away out of immediate view behind a few other shops. Remote in people’s imagination it may be, yet it’s not far off the highway at all.
Just amazing. The range of food and creativity and presentation is impressive. It’s difficult to eat at some Japanese restaurants as a vegetarian but the modern-traditional style of food so easily made vegan without losing anything and it’s so delicious at Izakaya Midori you definitely don’t miss a thing.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Reedy Creek. We were warmly welcomed by friendly servers who escorted us to our table. The menu caught our attention with its variety of enticing entrees and mains, making it difficult to choose. Ultimately, we decided to try a variety of dishes from both sections. Each dish was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's dedication and skill. Despite the smaller portions, we were able to sample a bit of everything. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the dishes justifies it. The servers were also attentive and accommodating, assisting us with our choices and serving each dish promptly. After a long drive from Brisbane based on the positive reviews we had read online, we can confidently say it was worth it. Whether you're vegan or not, this restaurant is a must-try. We commend the chef for their efforts in creating such delicious dishes and thank our server, Yuki, for making our evening memorable. Thank you, Izakaya Midori, we will definitely be back!
This Japanese restaurant is a must-visit for vegans! We traveled all the way from Brisbane to the Gold Coast just to dine here based on its stellar 5-star reviews on Google. And let me tell you, we were not disappointed! Every dish we tried was crafted with precision and care. While the portion sizes were a bit smaller and the prices a tad higher, the quality and taste more than made up for it. We will definitely be returning in the future!
