At Park - Goeteborg

This fine restaurant is located in a hotel near Gotaplatsen. When we saw the classy dining room and fancy uniforms on the waitstaff we expected this to be a pricy place, but the lunch specials were very reasonable. As soon as they take your order, they bring you a small salad and their house bread that looks like a mini-muffin but is rich and savory. Husband ordered fried fish and I had the veal. The food was expertly prepared. Service was spot-on and the din from lunch diners wasn't overwhelming. Specials change daily.

I had a three course meal and all of them had elements and/or flavor combinations that were new to me. The starter was marinated salmon and pickled greens which was excellent. The main dish was veal and the only thing that was a bit dissapointing was that it was a bit tough. The bread served before the meals had a taste of bicarbonate that I did not like.

At Park restaurant opened in Oct 2017, in the same hotel where Park Aveny Cafe was located. The owners of this restaurant also own two other nearby restaurants: Mr P and SK Mat Människor . I would rate the food as very good. BUT the restaurant is VERY NOISY. This is because the interior designer and the owners paid no attention to sound insulation. The result is that even when the restuarant is only one third full during lunch time, the amount of noise from people talking and from music constantly playing becomes uncomfortable. When the restaurant is half full or more the noise becomes very uncomfortable. At dinner time when diners drink alkohol and raise their voices the noise becomes unbearable. Several guests have complained to the waiters and waitresses about the noise. I too told one of the waitresses to inform the owners about my complaint. But nothing was done to remedy this problem. As a result the amount of noise riuns any pleasure one could get from the good quality of food. I just gave up and I don 't eat there any more.

Closed down in June 2017. The restaurant was located on the ground floor of Elite Park Avenue Hotel. The hotel says that after renovation a new restaurant will open in autumn 2017, to be run by Götaplatsgruppen who own several resturants: Mr. P , Toso SK Mat Människor . The restaurant had a faithful old-age client base. Park Aveny Cafe was one of my most favourite restaurants serving lunch of the day in Gothenburg. It will be missed.

Very nice place. Especially the staff. They are all great and customer friendly and I would especially like to high light Mats. He is one of the reason we go to park Avery cafe
