Was in Gönnheim for a few days and stayed in the hotel attached to the Restaurant, rooms are very large very clean and very comfortable!,! I thought that was the good bit until My Wife and I ate in the Restaurant. WOW!!! Cannot have been better treated by the Service personel, Friendly and Knowledgeable and welcoming ,The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very nice to sit in, lots of space between the tables so you have your personal space. THE FOOD, well what can i say, The belly pork was Amazing followed by the Steak, just perfection!!! And to round everything off a butterscotch ice cream. Taste sensation!!! I can wholly recommend this restaurant, it is an absolute enjoyment to sit here and eat such unbelievable food. The wine list is also very large with a wine for all tastes. Thank you so much for our experience!!!!!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in Gönnheim last week! We were welcomed with open arms (including our dog, who was split with love and treats by the entire staff! . The room was nice, great value for money, and perfectly good for the deep sleep we fell into after a fantastic meal. It being asparagus season, we had truffled asparagus salad with home smoked salmon and creamy asparagus soup. As mains we had asparagus with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce and a fabulous rack of lamb with polenta. FABULOUS! We finished with a compilation of desserts crème brûlée, chocolate mousse and a delicious creamy mousse(? . Wine prices are modest (I mean really low , the selection is great, and advice given is competent. Service was friendly and professional. The dining room is pleasant, well lit, in the old farm building. It is obvious that the chef cares about his food. The sourcing of all ingredients is meticulously managed and the preparation lives up to the raw materials used! We will be back to try the dry aged meats, and to enjoy the hospitality provided by a happy team of enthusiasts.

We were looking for a place to host a murder mystery party in wine country. We stumbled upon this one, no longer hungry but in the mood for a drink. The service was impeccable for such a small order, and we talked to the owner about our party plans. She was extremely excited about our plans and eager to work with us. They have a large smoker in the courtyard, and we asked about that. They were planning a BBQ fest a few weeks later, so we returned for that. The BBQ fest was incredible. The flavours we know from across the southern USA, but on fine china with again, impeccable service. We booked our mystery dinner. The dinner was last weekend, and I'm happy to say that cooperation with the owner worked very well. We were able to arrange a 3 course meal at a fixed price to accommodate all dietary restrictions, in a separate room with a wonderfully decorated table. 10 of 10 guests commented on how wonderful the food was. Even those who aren't huge wine connoisseurs were able to appreciate the wines selected. Again, this may be because of the service. I have already sent friends here, and they have already booked their private functions here after 1 meal. We'll be back sometime soon. Even if it just to sit in the garden and have a glass of fine local wine.

We go back to the farm because eating is always at the point, in the normal case the kitchen would have to get a star! They don't need to hide! marco gremingerloh understands absolutely... more
