Our favorite were the cookies, which we heated up and added a generous amount of butter, just as the friendly cashier suggested.
There is no comparison to the delicious freshly baked donuts at Culbert's. My personal favorite is the cinnamon roll. I have tried their cookies, cakes, tarts, breads, rolls, and everything was fantastic. It has become a family tradition for us to get donuts from Culbert's every time we visit Goderich for vacation. It's clear they are doing something right, as there was a line out the door on Saturdays.
We ordered eight dozen donuts to bring back for friends in Grimsby and London. They were packed in a large box without a lid, taking up the entire back seat of the vehicle. We had to repackage the box ourselves. Unfortunately, the donuts were not fresh and we were disappointed when we tried one and realized they were stale. We paid $84.00 for the donuts, which was a big letdown. They were definitely not freshly baked and were not good enough quality.
I've been shopping here for over forty years. I can appreciate the last of the attempt to cultivate a cultural heritage with inadequate staff, but there is no excuse for the derivation of bulky were to these or any praises. that happened also before....The leaves I bought were fresh, but tasteless. the fresh places were quite tasty, but others were very dry and crumbling. the prices have risen and the pieces are much smaller. I've never liked her tasteless cookies. the women tried their best. I hope a new buyer can get this business back on. that will be my last visit.
Consistently awesome baked goods. Chocolate butter tarts! Cream puffs! Get there early for best selection. This business is unfortunately for sale. Hopefully whoever buys it will keep up the legacy! There are no tables as it is for take out
