Charlie's Place - Gloucester

Wow, what an amazing place! My wife and I were advised that this was the best spot for breakfast, and it truly lived up to the hype. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and hot coffee. I ordered the corned beef hash with poached eggs, while my wife enjoyed crab cakes with her poached eggs. Our server, Jeferson, was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. This is definitely a place we would return to. The interior was lovely, with customers seated at the counter and at tables, and everyone seemed relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings.

The seafood was good, but I wasn't a fan of the breading. It’s unleavened, which made it feel a bit heavy and lacking in flavor. The chowder and bisque were decent, but they weren't as hearty as those at other places in the area.

Go to place for fried seafood in Gloucester. Opinion rings are good too. Fries are usual bland presumably fro frozen. Slaw is fresh with not too much mayonnaise. Consistent for many years now. We go back several times each summer. Other things are often mediocre.
