Alexandra's Bread - Gloucester

I've been living at the northern shore for over 15 years. moved to Gloucester before the pandemic and discovered this place. My favorite bakery on the north bank. All we had is delicious and a perfect texture. The owners are charming and the small shop in the front is a perfectly cured mix of tea and vintage housewear and quilts and local art cards. Funny and humorous and high quality. Also very good prices compared to other hip bakeries that have opened in recent years.

A Hidden Gem in Gloucester, this family-run business offers the best cranberry herbs, featuring wonderfully stretchy, sweat-elastic gluten—there are no dry crumbs here! I recommend placing a bulk order a day in advance; that way, they can prepare exactly what you need and set it aside for you to pick up the next day. This arrangement allows them to also cater to walk-in customers with their regular stock. It’s a delightful place, filled with fantastic aromas as you step inside. The bread is freshly baked on-site, right behind the registers.
