Jj's Louisiana Bbq - Glendale

I haven't been to the restaurant, so it might be good, but the food truck experience was disappointing. The smoked chicken thighs were tough and resembled jerky, the brisket was very dry and poorly sliced, and the pulled pork was also extremely dry—lacking that desirable smoky flavor. Instead, it tasted like dirty smoke mixed with lighter fluid. I spent $32, including the tip, and ended up throwing most of the food away. The mac and cheese was decent, but mostly mushy and bland. As someone who knows BBQ, I was really let down.

This restaurant is closed! I visited on a Friday at noon, and it was just closed! I was really looking forward to trying their brisket!

I'm not sure what has happened to JJ's. The food and service used to be fantastic, but it's been a while since I last visited. The service this time was just okay. The soda machine was out of ice, most of the soda options were unavailable, and the Kool-Aid tasted like sweetened tap water. They were also out of tartar sauce. On a positive note, they did refill the ice machine and prepare some tartar sauce, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry, and both the macaroni and potato salad seemed to be store-bought. The peach cobbler and mac and cheese weren't impressive either. On a brighter side, the catfish was absolutely delicious, and the greens were good. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning.

It is difficult to give a locally owned restaurant, a 1-star review. However, these are our reasons. Came here today after being in the area. The restaurant was empty, which was odd, being that it is Saturday, 1230pm. Order 2 beef brisket sandwiches with 2 sides each, a canned soda and a water cup. The bill was $46 (20% tip included). Expensive lunch for 2. The meat came warm with cold center. The meat was not good by any stretch of imagination. Coleslaw was ok and the potato salad was pretty awful. Portions were also very small. Very bad experience on a consumer level. Only 1 tray was finished and the other was discarded.

Spent $35 on a tiny to go container. The Dinner Roll was a hot dog bun. The worst BBQ restaurant. We walked in there on a Friday night and there was literally not a single sole in the restaurant. I made a joke to my wife, not even one person here on a Friday night, not promising now I understand why there wasn 't anyone there.
