The Church Glenbrook

I have become a regular through the week and on weekends at this quaint cafe. The coffee has always been excellent, the service quick and friendly, and the food has been fresh and delicious. What a pleasant change from some of the other noisy cafes around - particularly on Saturday and Sunday in crazy Glenbrook.

We stopped at the Church cafe for breakfast on our way to Katoomba. It was a chilly morning but the cafe was warm and cosy inside. The staff were friendly, the music was relaxing and we received our order promptly. Our coffee was hot and the bacon/egg roll was delicious. The experience was so pleasant that we returned to enjoy coffee and a sweet treat on our way home. Thank you Church cafe!

I chose this place because I thought it would be a great place to eat. What's not to like with an old church and the whole religious feeling surrounding the atmosphere of this iconic location. How disappointed I was! There is no table service which is fine. Order and pay at the counter. Then be prepared to wait.........I ordered nachos but not the ones from Mexico, just local ones but I thought they were coming from Mexico.There were four people working and only 16 patrons. The maths is simple, we could use multiplication or division but its fairly simple, 4 x 4 is 16 or 16 divide by 4 is 4. So there were four people for every staff member. My nachos took over 20 minutes to arrive. When my meal arrived the disappointment was compounded by the size of the meal. While I was there several people ordered take away coffees and waited up to 10 minutes. That's ridiculous. Thanks for a lovely setting but ill never be back.

We came here a few months ago and left feeling underwhelmed so returned again to see if we had been overly harsh before.We ordered food and then had to pop nice on a table as the place was very busy and then promptly waited for 20-25 mins for coffee to arrive and food/ other drinks to be delivered.Staff were clearly not enjoying work and when my coffee finally arrived it was cold. Had it been warmer it might have been acceptable.The other drinks were generally ok but this place is average and we all left saying that we wish we had gone to 2773..

I'd visited the Church on 2 previous occasions for coffee and the service was slow but the surroundings pleasant. Today however i took a family member there for lunch. Unbelievably slow service ... 50 minute wait for lunch. Then we were foolish enough to order an extra couple of coffees after our meal another 20 minutes later 2 lukewarm coffees arrived. The 2 hour parking limit was up by the time we left ... Considering the other cafes in the area offer good service and friendly service you'll need to pick your game up Church management. I'll be going somewhere else next time I'm afraid.
