A Toda Madre - Glen Ellyn

We came in for lunch on a Saturday. We started with a delicious Paloma cocktail and the house guacamole appetizer, followed by a variety of tacos and street corn. We finished off the meal with a spicy Margherita. Everything tasted fantastic and the portion size was just right for the three of us.

This restaurant is absolutely delicious. The food is fun and perfect for sharing, and the drinks are carefully crafted and delicious. The decor is lively and the place is very clean. My only issue is that when we called ahead to see if they could accommodate children (we ended up bringing our 7 and 9 year olds but wouldn't normally bring them here), we were told they could make simple tacos or quesadillas for them. However, when we tried to order, our waiter seemed nervous and mentioned that the kitchen may refuse the order. It seems like this may be a common occurrence. Despite the initial hiccup, they made an exception and prepared a bean and cheese taco for my child. We ended up ordering plenty of other dishes for the adults, which were all perfect. We left happy and will definitely return for date nights in the future. However, it's disappointing that there are no kid-friendly options available. We understand that not all restaurants cater to children, but even upscale places on the main street have simple kids' items on their menu. We tried to order guacamole for the kids, but everything came with chili peppers with no substitutions. If we had known beforehand that they couldn't accommodate our children, we would have chosen a different spot for dinner. Overall, we love this restaurant and highly recommend it, but it may not be suitable for children with simple tastes.

I have been to this restaurant twice now, and the food was just as good as the first time - consistently delicious. However, I was disappointed to find that the tiled floor near the bar was extremely dirty. Additionally, when paying $7 for a canned beer, I expected to be served in a glass. Twice I was given a can and had to request a glass. This was quite frustrating.

12/29/21 review It?s tough to find a place that can put everything together and have great service! This place DID THAT! Food was excellent and their options for cocktails was elite. We enjoyed their atmosphere and their excellent service. If you are Gf,like my wife is, then you will be happy because they have lots of options and pay attention to your diet needs. If there is onething I do wish, it would be a longer food menu. I love tacos and I love their sides, but I wish there were more yummyoptions. Everything was small, but also expensive. I would give it 3/5 stars, because eating was not terrible, but $13 for a very tiny margarita not sitting well with me. the Elote-Dip also tastes super fishing from some ground. not sure if I'm returning. but our server was wonderful.
