Great of roasted vegetables. very fresh and excellent ingredients.
Glen ellen star was amazing, a nice, comfortable restaurant that we visited during our stay in the nearby olea hotel on our slum week. the restaurant had a nice casual ambiente, but had a beautiful industrial rustic atmosphere perfect for date night or a special okkka. our favorites were the sweet- carved mais, cotija calcareous dish, the boobs sprouts with speck remoulade, and the pfanne sewn with salsa verde kicherbsen. we shared the homemade bourbon maple ice cream that was also excellent!
Absolutely everything we ordered in the menu was fantastic. if the tellers were edible, we would have gone for them. Stellar experience. from ambiente, quality waiting staff and excellent eating we are now so obsessed with this place and it will go to mock. roasted vegetables are supposed to die, and the pastas we had recently were phenomenal. hands down best in the Sonoma region (and we are native).
The Glen Ellen Star definitely lives up to its name. I savor every minute when I'm lucky enough to have dinner here as it is a gem. We sat at the chef's bar and watched every dish while we interacted with the chefs. Each dish is meticulously prepared with amazing ingredients. I wanted every vegetable dish on the menu and finally decided on the cauliflower. It was a crown of cauliflower covered with tahini that looked like melted cheese with sliced almonds on top. The texture of the cauliflower was like butter. (Like buttah! My spouse got the wood roasted calamari with zucchini pesto, pickled ramps, chorizo ribbons (I know! and squash blossoms. I swear it looked more like a corsage than a dish. And he was smart enough to give me a couple of tastes. For the main, I had the brick chicken with hominy and green chilis and pickled jalapeño. Wowza! Just mention crispy-skinned chicken with a soft, moist center and a little heat of peppers and I'm swooning. The husband has house made farfalle with morel mushrooms, burrata, toasted pine nuts and basil with a hen egg carefully placed on top. Masterpiece!
