The staff were not communicative at all. It was disappointing, especially since we had just moved to the area and were looking forward to trying out our new local restaurant.
Another serviceable eatery saved by the coffee and excellent service. When my guest and I read Bubble ‘n Squeak on the menu, we gave out a ‘hurray’ as one, then ordered two. What returned was an orange lump of blended vegetables shaped in a ramekin and plonked on the middle of the plate. A version of BnS that I just don’t care for. No discernible veggies, no chunks; just a Trump-coloured mash and a sprig of flat-leafed parsley. It was hard going. My shoulders slumped. Avoid the dish at all cost. The owner was lovely when I commented on same.
The idea of having a meal in the dispensary was quite out-of-the-box and a bit put-off but always game to try something new we finally, with a strong heart, visited it and realized there was nothing weird about it. We quite liked the ambiance. Talking about food, it's not bad, but it's not great either. These kind of simple, very usual lunches have been had in the past and liked. Ordered a Chicken Sandwich and Corn Fritters with Smoked Salmon to.go with our usual Hot Chocolate and Coffee. What we DEFINITELY LOVED was the gingerbread cookie. Expensive for the portions served of the usual fare unless one is paying for a novel ambiance. Hospitality is warm and coffee is great. Hot Chocolate was not something I would want to have.
After getting off the wrong tram to St Kilda beach, we stumbled upon this charming little restaurant. The quirky decor filled with old pharmaceutical items was delightful, and we were so captivated that we decided to forgo our trip to the beach. The breakfast we ordered was delicious - my husband and I both got different meals and enjoyed every bite. The staff were efficient and friendly, serving our coffees and meals quickly. They were knowledgeable and accommodating, making our experience memorable. We will definitely be returning to this interesting and tasty spot.
We stoped for a coffee at this distinctive place. Coffee was good but unfortunately my daughter chai latte was well under average. Pastries were great. The berry juice served in 'laboratory glasses ' was intriguing and delicious.
