Himalayan Char Grill - GLEBE

This place was great and the buy two mains get the second 50% off is a steal on Monday and Tuesday for the quality of food and service. This restaurant also has great lighting for either a date night or a group setting. The staff is friendly and everything is clean. Highly recommend.

It's a big statement to make when a restaurant advertises that it has the best lamb shanks in Sydney but it was enough to tempt me in to try them anyway. Located on Glebe Point Road, the Himalayan looks like is a fairly nondescript suburban restaurant on a street with a huge variety of choices. It's BYO so I had to head back down the street for some cold beers and when I returned, despite the fact the restaurant was only half full, no one had even bothered to take our orders. After standing up and waving down a waiter we went with chicken momos & poleko bhanta for entrees, followed by the lamb shanks and goat curry. At least the service improved from that point. The portion sizes were relatively generous and the slow cooked meat was very tender. The dishes however were way too mild lacking that spicy heat that I'm used to at the Nepalese restaurants back home, even though we expressly said we wanted some chilli heat. Was an enjoyable night but I've had better Nepalese food.

This was my second time to Himalayan Char Grill, and it was just as good as the first time. The restaurant is nice and cosy, and I found it very authentic. The service was great - a big shout-out to the young girl serving us who was only on her second day. She was just lovely and very attentive. The young man assisting her was also a great help. The food is outstanding - those beef cheeks are to die for! The goat is also very tasty, although a bit salty, and the samosas - wow! The food here is incredible. They also do really good coffee - my cappuccino was perfect. A really great Friday night out.

We were very sad to see the Himalayan Chargrill move out of Crows Nest but it was great to see them on Saturday in their other home at Glebe! Great food great service great atmosphere highly recommended!

The Masala Beef Cheek was amazing and the service very friendly / welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing and uplifting. Very happy to recommend this restaurant.
