The At Macdonald Crutherland House

The staff seemed to be under a lot of pressure due to staffing issues. I was disappointed to find that the prices listed online were lower than those on the restaurant menu. However, there is a wide variety of choices available.

The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were polite, very friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean. I will definitely be returning.

We visited the restaurant for a Christmas afternoon tea with my friend and my 11-year-old daughter. Upon arrival, we found the place completely empty. The receptionist directed us to the cocktail bar, which was also devoid of customers. We sat in a dimly lit room for about ten minutes before an employee finally turned on the lights. My friend requested music to be played from the TV, but there was no music at all. It took around 20 minutes for the afternoon tea to be served, and for £20 per person, it was quite underwhelming. My daughter was still hungry afterward, so we ended up ordering her a portion of chips. I've had many wonderful evenings at this venue, but unfortunately, this afternoon tea didn't meet my expectations.

We got a good meal from the festive afternoon tea. It was served in the cocktail bar and we had two very comfortable seats. The place was quiet because it was Friday afternoon, but that's what we wanted. We had a really nice time and really delicious food. The only drawbacks had to ask for plates, knives and a second round of tea. It did not feel as if the staff were coordinated or willing to serve us. In fact, they seemed very stressed and tired/worked, which made us feel a little uncomfortable, although it was quiet in the hotel...

The food was lovely but went cold very quickly due to the restaurant having no heating and being very cold, staff were lovely and did apologise for how cold it was
