2000's Mamak Cambridge Street - Glasgow

Very friendly staff. orange and gurke flavored water was beautiful. everything was generally great. cocos rice could be a bit sticky and sweeter, curry huh could be cut into smaller pieces, other sides in the plate were amazing. the seafood tom noodles did not seem to have used fresh seafood, and it would be more beautiful to have used fresh/frozen udon instead of instant.

The owner was very friendly and attentive. She noticed that I had ordered too much food and kindly suggested that I could cancel a few items to avoid waste. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The tom yum vermicelli soup was priced at 12 GBP per portion and was large enough to share between two people. The soup was tangy, spicy, and very appetizing. I also tried the rice noodles with seafood, which had a hint of sweetness. The salted egg yolk dish, priced at 9.50 GBP, had a texture similar to Chinese salted crispy fried yolk. It was tasty but could be a bit too rich if consumed in large quantities. The cold mamak tea was priced at 6 GBP and was a refreshing choice. The salt and pepper tofu and roasted foods were flavorful but should be eaten in moderation as they can be greasy.

I am so glad that I stumbled on this place! very simple decor, but a great varied menu. they have made a selection of curries, noodles and rice dishes malay, taiwan, Thai style. I ordered the braided beef and it was great! only the right level of anis in the sauce and the meat was tender with lukeciously fat bits! I have to go back!

I loved this place. all I had was full of taste, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I wish I had discovered the place before. go with a friend and get them the mixed plate for 2, it is incredibly good value. the best I had! the personal is super friendly 2!

What an amazing place to eat in Glasgow City centre.. We wanted to come here on the Friday but sadly it was fully booked. Now we can see why, we went back on Sunday and 2000's Mamak did not dissapoint! The staff were so welcoming from start to finish. We went for the platter for 2, there was a good selection to choose from, and the food was amazing. Real home cooked food, so tasty even now my mouth is watering just thinking about it) the portion sizes shocked both me and my partner, we really did not expect all that food for less than £27, there was even soup within the platter for 2. We explained that we were visiting for the weekend for my partners birthday and the staff brought him cake and all sang happy birthday which was so lovely. This restaurant really did finish of our weekend away perfectly.. the only down side is we won't get to have more of this amazing food until we visit Glasgow again. We highly recommend 2000's Mamak.
