Country Vines Winery

Can we take a moment and just appreciate the people that work here? Yes, the place itself is awesome, yes the wine is good, but what really makes Country Vines special is the people. From the warm smile at entry to the knowledgeable information provided with every bottle, Country Vines is a staple of Richmond.

I came here in a rainy afternoon when not crowded. Owners were super friendly with their story about winery, grape seasons, prospectives of the industry, economic scale of wine, etc... Samples are available and please try them all. Highly recommended include Schonburger, Contact Pinot Gris, Harry's Reserve. Prices are really good and quality of wine are excellent. Quantity limited , so hurry up!

A very cozy and beautiful brunch spot. A group of us came here for a wine tasting, the connoisseur was very natural in explaining all the different types of wine. We grabbed some picnic boxes and a bottle of wine and relaxed in their seating area. We had the most wonderful time.

We recently enjoyed a picnic there for the second time and loved it! We bought wines of course and they are really great. They offer a lovely charcuterie box, which we augmented with bread and fruit from the market. What a great way to spend an afternoon!

We came here after the pumpkin patch as we are big winos and we’re excited to try something local as we belong to a few wine clubs. The space was cute, the wine was good but the way we were treated was poor and we felt belittled! We asked if they have food (as some wineries do) and they serve charcuterie then just say what you have instead of making us feel like we were dumb by saying “we’re not a restaurant”. Also we bought a bottle to support but you’re not allowed to take your purchase outside on the patio while having our glasses of wine. No issue with the rule but when we were leaving, my husband puts his glass away in their bin and went to grab our purchase; One, they didn’t have our bottle behind the counter anymore and two, was asked if he was actually leaving! Rude! What did they think we were going to do?! Very disappointing experience!
