Surfin' Taco - Gisborne

We tried the seasonal seafood enchilada, the bark burrito, and the bare chicken burrito. The portion sizes were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the flavors were outstanding. The food is hearty and comforting, reminiscent of Tex-Mex but with a unique twist since it's not actually from Texas (I can’t recall the exact region, but they incorporate olives and tomatoes in the burritos, giving them a lighter feel than traditional Tex-Mex). The margaritas were excellent as well. I highly recommend this place!

Big place, would go again (if I'm ever back in gisborne).

We had a fantastic meal at a great price! We tried the seafood enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, and some kids' quesadillas. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Our total bill was only $20 per person, including drinks!

The margaritas were outstanding—possibly the best I've ever had. The tacos were less impressive, but the dishes at other tables looked fantastic and generous in portion. This lively little spot is a lot of fun, with the owner taking on multiple roles as server, cocktail mixer, and busboy. It's definitely worth a visit, especially just to enjoy a couple of margaritas!

Cool Authentic Mexican Kai in Gisborne. Enter thru a plain facade into a little Mexico away from Mexico. Delicious food prepared by the owner accompanied by a choice of Mexican beverages. In November 2020 opening hours are Wed Sat. Prices are reasonable so why not pay them a visit!!!
