Tenuta Orsanese - GINOSA

We came across this place completely by accident after visiting the nearby Greek Temple at Tavole Palatine. There didn't seem to be a lot of choice in the nearby resorts along this stretch of coast off-season, so it was a real surprise to find this excellent restaurant, open and serving lunch in November! It gives the impression of being set up for weddings and resident functions, and it is probably very suitable for this, but it was also perfect as a lunch-stop on the day's drive across Italy. The service was very good, and there was no pressure to eat several courses off a set menu. We just wanted one main course and coffee, and the Pasta dishes were perfect. They could improve the signage approaching the Villa from the road. It was not clear that there is a restaurant here, and if you are not a local, the name doesn't help to make this clear.

We were told there is no menu. The waiter brought us what was supposed to be house wine and two dishes. We were greeted with a bill for 220 euros for 4 of us.

Location is beautiful with a stunning pool..which you are not going to use if you are just dining. Food was average but service very poor. We arrived at 12,45 and waiter said restaurant would open at 13,30. We said we would happily wait outside with a drink. So he gave us two bottles of beers and sent us out. He seemed quite annoyed throughout the meal. Service was very slow even if we were the only customers for more than an hour.

Una serata indimenticabile! La posizione è meravigliosa, il crudo fresco, e i piatti spettacolari! Senza dimenticare la gentilezza, la competenza e la disponibilità del personale, in particolare di Augusto che ci ha fatto sentire a casa! Grazie.

Si mangia bene perché cucinano solo due primi e due secondi, quindi sono cibo fresco del giorno e poi lo cucinano bene.
