Whitecaps Restaurant & Lounge - Gimli

This is a family owned restaurant. The food is excellent and moderately priced however they have a very small salad bar and have an odd way of ordering since the waitress hurt her leg.

It was serve yourself, after I ordered my food, I then had to grab everything for eating, myself; cutlery, napkins, condiments, drinks. Shouldn't that be part of dining out, that you're supposed to have things set up for you? I could have cooked a better...More

The food is well prepared. The owners a little excenric and sometimes need to pay attention to the chefs attire. Delightful people. They do pay attention to you . Worth visiting and sampling the food.

The restaurant is now self serve. Quick service and order food at the cashier. The transition was made on new year's eve. Licensed for beer...wine...coolers only..No more fine dining....great burgers....chicken or homemade burgers or awesome salmon fillet burger...smokiness and hot dogs too....milkshakes are back too. Mac and cheese...assorted salads coming soon...Potato...coleslaw...bean...fruit salad as well with cottage cheese..prime rib...fish chips .pickerel and home fries...Coupons 2 for 1 in the express paper and spectator starting Jan 19 ....see you soon...oh...and lots mire food varieties....no more fine dining...just quick awesome food at a real super price...French Toast with bacon or strawberry ...sausage and eggs...bacon and eggs..Yummo....

Our Prime Rib Dinner was cooked to perfection. It was so reasonably priced. More than half the price of an equivalent meal in Winnipeg. Definitely worth the drive. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely drive and 1st class dinning experience in beautiful Gimli Manitoba to stop in and try out a meal at the Whitecaps Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
