They had live music, but it was TOO LOUD to have a conversation with friends at the table. They had the servers that burst silverware in the dining area. If I go back to the restaurant, I'd sit in the bar area. The music was still loud enough to hear there.
Fresh seafood and high quality Mexican dishes. had on Thursday night lively music that was entertaining. large personal and variety in the menu. king crab enchiladas were excellent and so was the garnelencocktail.
That was my first time to eat here. it was recommended by a friend and they apparently had moved to a larger place than the previous strip mall. it was very busy, which is a good sign. we waited about 20 minutes before our order. they don't have to watch a menu that's long. until then we were on chips and salsa survived. the chips and salsa are good. unique aromen. they also have a hotter version they ask for. Meady smart, the portions are a bit small. 1/2 plate is ripe and drill. the enchilada is ok, but is a 3 bite experience. the tamale was very good, probably one of the best I had in the valley. price for this court after drinking money is about $20. the problem is the competition in this space. there are many really good Mexican options. nothing was really wrong with the experience, except slow service, but I would not say that this is a place for which I would go away from my.
The service was great to start, but after our order was taken, it went down. The chips and salsa were good and the guacamole was made fresh after ordering. The carne asada burrito needed something for an extra kick. The pico inside was hardly noticeable and the green sauce above was a tomatillo sauce without chili taste at all. The chickens were good, but nothing special. The Cheeseburger was fine, my granddaughter got it because they were out of deceased. They used high quality ingredients and the food was good, but it just didn't have the kick we enjoyed in our food.
Rio Rico is a newley opened location of a family styled Mexican restaurant with over 15 years of serving the nearby Gilbert area. The new facilities provide for a full bar, dining area, and two separately reserved party rooms for special events or dinners. This was my first visit to Rio Rico. The staff was very kind and sevice was fast, efficient and helpful. The prices were also reasonable. The seating area is spacious and some booths are more secluded than others. My entrée tonight was the Pollo Al Chipotle, which is a grilled chicken dish that is smoothered in a smooth, creamy aioli sauce filled with mushrooms, onions and spiced with a slow burn chipotle spice. It comes with rice and beans sides as well as a couple of flour or corn tortillas. It was a nice dish, but not flavors that I enjoyed. My son ordered the chile verde plate, which I tried some bites of. The green chile pork flavor was more of the light green flavor, nothing close to the hatch chile sharp flavor I enioy. The pork was perfectly cooked, but again more of an average green chile than I like. That said, the chips and salsa were excellent, and one of my important points of a Mexican restaurant is that the chips and salsa must be excellent if provided. I will return to Rio Rico because I didn't get a chance to try the red chili or sauce dishes. And the staff was genuinely excellent, so I am sure the I can find another entrée that I will be more to my liking.
