Wheatberries Cafe & Restaurant

For the second time this year, after a great visit to the Sunshine Coast, we made it to the Langdale Ferry Terminal in time to grab coffee from Wheatberries before boarding our ferry. We got in line behind about 20 other people. 25 minutes later, when we finally got to the window I asked if we had time to order our coffee. The gal looked at the ferry that was docked and unloading, shrugged and said – ya. By the time we got our coffee (another 5 minutes) we had to sprint for our car as the Ferry was loading. On our previous trip we waited more than half an hour and didn’t even make it to the ordering window. The coffee is ok. However, the service is painfully slow and the staff indifferent to the time constraints of their customers. We like to support the local businesses, however the next time we travel through Langdale, we will not be building Wheatberries into our trip.

The Wheatberries Cafes all over the Sunshine Coast are Excellent! The Cranberry Granola is beyond fantastic and the range of choices in the restaurant are excellent. We enjoyed a spinach croissant and coffee while sitting on comfortable cushions and read all afternoon!

Small, and busy but fast morning coffee spot I especially enjoy their raspberry scones one of several wheat berries on the Coast, the baking is always the same quality & selection as the other outlets in Gibsons & Sechelt

Stop here before boarding ferry - great selection of food and drinks. New enclosure keeps the weather off you during the rainy season.

We usually go to Starbucks for coffee when travelling but decided to try Wheatberries instead. While I still lean toward Starbucks for coffee, the muffins, especially the bran muffins were exceptional.
