Located at the edge of the centre of town and although I didn't look at the menu it did do ok Guinness.
Next to the hotel we stayed in and buoyed by previous reviews we entered the atmospheric bar run by Patrick! We were not disappointed by the place, which was fantastic, nor the Craic provided by himself and we spent a happy 90 minutes reminiscing over his prior life in our part of the world! The red wine was great, the tapas were super, the company was grand and the bill ridiculously good!! Thanks Patrick and get that motorhome!! Ps we went to your recommended restaurant and were hugely disappointed!!!
Scanlan's is a genuine Irish Pub/Bar/Cafe, run by a convivial Irish man (unlike many of the so called Irish bars around and about! . The host is really helpful and friendly. On a personal level he tried hard to source a particular English football match for me (Liverpool actually successfully in the end but I'd got the times wrong! Quite busy early afternoon, with lots of locals using the tables outside. Serves food too. Well worth a visit. Right next to the Guernica Hotel, 5 minutes walk from Tourism Office and centre of town. Price for pints is very reasonable too.
Enjoying coffee with a puncture.
