Contribuiți la feedbackA professional appointment brings me to Gerlingen. The evening choir is full of duty – and there is plenty of hunger. A first attempt of gastronomic orientation through the city centre shows at least half a dozen locals nearby: a surprisingly rich yield. The “In Wengert” is the most friendly and individual, but it seems to me to be a very solid restaurant because of the extended menu with a good selection of classic Swabian dishes. The beautiful and elaborately renovated, semi-concrete building is easily accessible by rising stone finishers (Preview: easy to reach in the rain. Also inside the house is very clean and creative. You will first pass a small anteroom that is illuminated in the evening with Kerzlein and beautiful accessories. At 5:30 we are the first guests of the evening. Unfortunately, we are admitted without dizziness to a somewhat gloomy cat table in the corner. Two ladies with a dog who arrive directly after us and are not reserved can immediately take a seat on a generous, welcoming table with at least five chairs. The restaurant, which, by the way, has only five tables in the guest room (but apparently still has plenty of space in the old cellar. One hour after our arrival, the place is plentiful – and that on a weekday. The audience died at the age of 50, mostly and obviously more or less from the region. In addition to some salad variations and small appetizers, the menu mainly offers grounded and Swabian dishes. This may be due to the local clientele that is at an age if you are not so clean, but you do not want to order a senior board. Maybe the Swabians like to be economical: go to eat, but don't want to be so much. In any case, I am interested in how a small part is ordered several times in the secondary tables. We knelt a crust roast and take only melted mules with potato salad (9.50 euros and a small part cheese pullet (7.50 euros) that can be ordered with or without bacon. The usual Trollingerschorle is for me without any case with another wine variety as desired (3,00 Euro for a quarter and is presented in a small carafe. So far, so good. The small, cozy guest room is dominated by rust and a lower ceiling. On the wall a large wooden wine rack. The tables are white covered, with reseda-colored ceilings and white fabric napkins, suitable for small stylistic life on the wall. Right behind the vault begins the small kitchen, which is open to the guest room. Here you can follow the work of the cook. Unfortunately, all noises and smells are delivered unprotected. Our additional salads are delivered almost immediately, possibly already prepared. But while our hot dishes are prepared, a soothing smell of heated plastic flows through the room. Has an unintentional handle made of plastic housing become hot? Or did a plastic bag come to the gas flame? We're silly, but we shouldn't ask. The dishes are then served visually impeccable. From the mouth pockets there are three pieces in the normal large part, but the "small" bugs look quite thirsty and hardly sown. The consistency is rather soft and soft. We would have hoped for the potato salad of the same crunchy consistency, but it is more likely than not even cooked pellet cut into slices. In principle, onions were also rather pickled. For this purpose, the jaw pockets taste massively, but are without special peculiarity or refinement. To get a little fed with the small part of the cheese parrots, you have to eat the bread basket (where are some slices of bread actually served here? Very positively we take the opportunity to order an eighteen wine choir – a special wish that is rejected elsewhere. The service works (sometimes something to practice, concentrates and professionally, without uncertainties. Ambience, furniture, glasses and dishes meet some strict requirements, but when preparing the dishes we miss our own handwriting or a creative interpretation of the usual classics.
In Gerlingen overnight on the way to Austria. Here grew up at a Friday night and managed to get a table for 2. A small cozy place with open kitchen with local speciality menu. Service was good and delicious. Talk good English if you need help with menu.
Lot of people have recommended this place so i went there with my friends. Staff was really harsh and unfriendly, it did take eternity to get any food (other people those who came after us did get food faster) and food it self was not so special in considering of the prices...
The little town of Gerlingen was a good location to meet for a dinner meeting. The entire place is darling, and I’ve been to many german restaurants while living over here for the past 7 years, so I don’t say that out of naivety. We requested a quiet corner, and were seated in the basement which is especially cozy, quiet and picturesque. Everything on the menu sounded good, but the waiter did not hesitate to recommend the Zwiebelrostbraten. I ordered it. I can honestly say I’ve never had a better piece of steak in Germany. I was so completely impressed, I haven’t stopped thinking about how soon I can get back there to order the Zwiebelrostbraten again. High quality beef, perfectly prepared, great service, and in the most pleasant atmosphere I could hope for.
