Monument Grill - Gering

I really dislike when restaurants use cheddar dip on nachos. Nachos should be made with nachos topped with shredded cheese put in oven til cheese melts put the meat on top and then the veggies on top of the meat. The ladies attendees were a 5 star, but the food set me off a bit.

Our family has been frequently dining at Monument Grill for the past 10 years. Because the food was delicious, it was worth the high prices we were willing to pay. Unfortunately, when we went there for Mother's Day 2024, we were told the chicken fried steaks had been changed......but the price was still the same high price! When the food arrived at the table, we saw that the chicken fried steaks had been changed to cheap unacceptable mince meat that tasted like dog food. We won't be going back.

Rib Eye was delicious. Had a side of scallops they was on the small side.

I try to give this place a chance but end up disappointed everytime. 5 entres took an hour an a half to arrive, steaks were supposed to be medium rare, were almost well done. Missing fried onion on burger, chicken in the alfredo and everything was cold except the light warmth from the heat lamp. Waitress was super friendly and helpful though.

The waitress was super! The atmosphere needs to be updated and more clean in style. There are no private booths and the bar area isn't separate from the dining area.
