Simmer Down Cafe - Georgetown

Just learned about this little cafe on Williams Dr. It was a very cozy place to eat a traditional American breakfast of an all meat omelette, hash browns and an English muffin. All day breakfast is one of their offerings. The wait staff was all very nice, energetic, timely and friendly. We can't wait to go back to try some of the other traditional cafe lunch and dinner fixings.

Hands down one of the best breakfast spots I've been to in the Austin area. We stopped by when they were providing a buffet breakfast and ate until we couldn't eat anymore. They also have a omelet bar where they will prepare it for you and bring it to your table. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive we never had an empty drink once. 10/10 recommend this to anyone looking for a casual breakfast or brunch.

The chicken meat was perfect! light teig, very tasty; salad very good. living and wobbling moms did away without breaking.. my man said this was the next house he cooked here! our waiter was not the best, but perhaps he was new! others waiter seemed to care about their tables. we're going back!

Spent $28 to take out 2. the cat's plate had 3 nugget large pieces without sauce, no butter or brown sugar for the sweet potato, no roll. the chicken fried dinner had no roll, sweet potato or butter. no utensils. could be the restaurant. the manager wouldn't come to the phone, but over waitress transmitted message that she regretted, but could not do anything about it. on another note once tried their Sunday brunch. food containers were empty, could not maintain with demand. extremely overcrowds too many hands that serve themselves. so ugly. do not give them business anymore.

Simmer Down was just ok. I ordered chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and it was ok. The service was good and our server courteous and friendly. My chicken fried steak was a little too much done and could use a little more gravy. The eggs were buttery and good. Hash browns were nothing special. The biscuit was very tasty. Overall, the restaurant was well attended, clean and comfortable. Parking can be a chore at times. There is room for improvement and I will put this restaurant on my list to try again
