Pepe's Mi Mexico - Georgetown

My takeout order was completely messed up, even after I double-checked for accuracy while placing it. I won't be coming back again.

After browsing the menu, I chose the Piñata Blanca, which is a beef burrito topped with cheese dip and pico de gallo. Alongside the burrito, the dish also included a carne con queso bowl—a small, deep-fried flour taco shell filled with ground beef and topped with queso and tomatoes. It also came with sides of rice and beans. True to the style of a typical Mexican restaurant, my lunch was served quickly and was piping hot. The flavors were delicious, and there was more food than I could handle—I definitely overindulged! The chips were delightful—warm, crispy, and with a subtle nutty flavor. The salsa was excellent as well; it wasn’t too spicy, which suited me since overly spicy salsa can dull your tastebuds for the rest of the meal. When my server, Jorge, brought my bill, he apologized for not stopping by my table more often to check in. However, that wasn't an issue at all, and I assured him of that. Jorge was very friendly and provided great service! Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Pepe's Mexican Restaurant, and at just $9.53 before tipping, it was an excellent value! If you find yourself in the Georgetown, Kentucky area, I highly recommend visiting Pepe's.

The food and service were excellent, and it wasn't overly crowded. It's definitely worth a stop to give it a try!

The Mexican food here is above average, although in recent years, some better options have emerged in town. Nevertheless, the friendly service and consistent quality keep us coming back whenever we're in Georgetown.

Recently, my experiences at this restaurant have been disappointing due to poor service. I typically order a dish with chicken but request a swap for steak because of a chicken allergy. This is something I've done for months without issue. However, on my last visit, the server informed me that they couldn’t accommodate my request. When I asked for an explanation, I was met with an eye roll and a dismissive shake of the head, which made me feel quite belittled. To add insult to injury, the server gave me unfriendly looks and didn't return until I had finished my meal. I really love this restaurant, but after these experiences, I won’t be returning. I've encountered issues both when dining in and during takeout.
