Hungry Hollow Smokehouse

Such a shame that this place is closing permanently in a few days. Huge loss to the whole region. So few places in and around Georgetown that have decent food, for this place to close is really unfortunate. Just picked up takeout last night, likely for the last time. It was delicious, as always.

My partner ordered the hush puppies as a side, I had the Mac and cheese. Both were good. The hush puppies are similar to a deep fried donut/timbits in texture. I got the pulled pork sandwich with coselaw added on; also came with fries which sees fresh cut. Would recommend dining in as it doesn't preserve as well with take out (especially in the winter when the food can't hold its heat). They have plenty of sauce options at a condiments station when you done in, but you can also ask for a container if you're doing take out and want to add the sauce when you get home

Went to Hungry Hollow on a whim. Was out for a joyride and became hungry. Having been to many many barbeque joints in my day, I figured I know a thing or two about good barbeque. The place actually smokes their meat. NOT 'liquid smoke '. The staff were polite and helpful, the menu was vast with MANY great options. The prices were reasonable by any standards given the generosity of the portions and the quality of their product. We had Brisket and Pork Poutine and a sandwich. They were both phenomenal. We were entertained by the owner, Mike Parsons who treated us, and pretty much anyone else who walked by, as though we were family. We will absolutely be back!!!! Thanks Mike!

Ordered a nightmare burger with a poutine. Burger was on point, it was fresh with a great spice. It was hot but it had flavour to which was nice. Just felt like the burger was a little dry. fries and gravy were perfect, made for a great poutine.

Food is really good and came out quickly, generous portions. I had the fish and chips and it was tasty. The staff is friendly and courteous. The space is what you call cozy but it has that home cooked vibe. Plenty of options in the menu, great local beers to accompany your meal.
